Svend Albæk

Biography
Svend Albæk is Visiting Fellow at the Centre for a Digital Society and Antitrust Advisor in the Chief Economist Team in the European Commission’s DG Competition, where he was the Deputy Chief Economist from 2014 to 2020. Prior to joining the Commission in 1998, he was an associate professor of economics at the University of Copenhagen and a member of the Danish Competition Council and the Danish Telecommunications Board of Appeal.
He has done research at the University of Aarhus, UCLA, the European University Institute, and Tilburg University. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain.
